Tour 0 North all the way down in Cheltenham? It was kind of fun to feel like were were there with local rivals, but the competition wasn't that great until the semis, and this is coming as a team who feel like we're only just putting it together.

We started the weekend with revenge against The Brown, having discussed their zone defence in some detail since Loughborough. They got an early break against our O-line, but when our offence did score, the D-dogs were eager to be let off the leash and - with some risk-taking - went on a run to snatch the game away.

From there it was plain sailing until BAF in the semis, an inveterate team who've embarrassed much better opposition in the past. With plenty of history between us, this was a well-fought, occasionally hot-tempered battle, and it meant a lot to win it.

So, we faced EMO in the final, as seeded, and it started cagily. Neither team took too many risks, and it may even have been unexciting for the spectators, but it felt pretty tense to be involved. An early break for the midlanders was sufficient to keep them always a little ahead, and we ended the game on the wrong end of a 2 point loss.
