After a poor start to the season, we'd got the results when we needed to against new rivals Discuits, and had provided some good warmup games to GB Masters before their European championship. With that out of the way, we knew there was at least one team ranked above us who wouldn't be making the trip to Wimbledon for European Regionals, and so were hoping for our best finish of the season.

The weekend featured two games against Dutch teams: Cambo Cakes with their assortment of ex-pats, and Gronical Dizziness with their lanky & versatile ex-Junior. Gronical's near one-man show did some damage, but we gritted it out for the win, and Cambo Cakes we simply ran off the park. We also got to revisit the Yorkshire Derby against Sheffield Steal, and went to town on them, winning 15-1.

So, the weekend ended against a team we hadn't faced recently: Devon. Always prone to finding a few athletic players, Devon clearly had a great team spirit and battled throughout, forcing the game into overtime. Whilst a certain level of complacency on our part might be to blame, Devon exploited every mistake we made, and in the end, we were glad to have our Mansfield game against Discuits to draw on and grit out the win. 7th place: objective achieved.
