First time on the calendar for this event, and we used it as extended trials for those who couldn't make it to as many of the Leeds-based sessions as they wanted.

Sadly, the tournament organisation was a bit of a mess, the accommodation wasn't great, and our large, newly introduced squad didn't make for the most cohesive competitive unit. With all those (semi-legitimate) excuses out there, we were convincingly beaten by a Brown zone that our experienced players should have been eminently familiar with, and got ourselves into a scrappy contest against Devon that was reminescent of last year's Nationals game.

The way seedings (and our idiotic loss to The Brown) worked out meant that EMO represented our one shot at semis and more of a challenge in our final game, but once again their discipline, rigid adherence to their style and insistent aggression against anything less than a determined force gave them a three point win.

All in all, we can be reasonably satisfied that we learnt more about our opposition than they did about us, but, conversely, as 'extended trials', we learnt more about individuals than we did about our ability to integrate them.
